Dear Diary,
I'll like to start with something special...
Happy Belated Birthday Hui Shan!
Yea,her birthday was yesterday (5th Sept) but was at a camp,so didn't get to do so.Anyways,I went for a Red Cross Camp to get my OA Sliver (Outdoor Activities) badge. It was a 3D2N camp,from 3th to 5th Sept.All in all,it was quite fun la.
On the first day,we placed our luggages & backpacks in diff locations (Boys in the Maths Room,Girls in the Library) We were lucky because the room we were sleeping in has got Air-Con!
1st day was boring! After the camp briefing,we were given Camp Planning Lessons.Throughout the whole lesson,all we do was listen listen and listen!Then after this was,Outdoor Cooking LESSON again! This time they brief us (once again) on how to cook the proper way.Lunch was next in line!We had to cook our own lunch and eat wadever we cooked,so if yours tasted horrible then good luck!After cooking was Hiking LESSON!Followed by another LESSON on Tent Pitching.Followed by Dinner!Cooked our own food again.This time it tasted horrible because I added too much salt!Well,no choice,have to make do wif it... After Dinner was Hiking LESSON 2 followed by Campfire LESSON 1. We were dog tired once all the lessons finished.Took our supper,and bath.I tell you!Our school bathroom very wad la,Gopal dunno how to maintain the standards.Firstly,either NO DOOR or Door cannot lock!Wad's the use -.- Secondly,the water was freaking cold,like ice liddat (which made me bath a LITTLE faster) Thirdly,the cubicle NO place to hang our clothes or put our shampoo & soap.So,in the end,only got to bath for 30 mins.I was the so-called "Bathing IC" but in the end was the last to come out.So,almost get scolding from the Sir -.- After bath & supper we headed up to our domes to sleep.The first night was a nightmare!Can't sleep at all!Lights out but ppl were walking here & there.And either talking or laughing.But fortunately,there was a plug to charge my handphone when we were sleeping :)!Finally,after around 2 hours of chattering and mingling among ourselves,the squad began to quiet down.However,I was awoken a few times by the snoring of my friend -.- (which was sleeping like a few foot from me!)Only managed to sleep for like 5 hours!
The 2nd day awaits!Woke up at around 5 and meet outside the hall at 6am to do our morning exercise.All the boys were there but the girls,no where to be found.Only when we finished did they come,but luckily,they were given more exercise as punishment to pay for their lateness!Haha!After exercise,we went down for Breakfast,once again starting to cook -.- Eat finish,wash utensils then meet outside the General Office to prepare for hiking!Hike like mad,walk for more than 3 hours.Then come to my turn,I was given some place where you have to walk about 300+ Paces,walk until die.Until there I overshot the destination a bit only the Maam mark me down,tsk!After the hiking when we were all tired like *toot* we went to the supermarket to buy all the Dried & Canned food for our lunch!We've got S$50 to spend,so why not!Had lunch (this time tasted good! =D) And then here comes more LESSONS!Oya,not to forget while going down for campfire,I saw Hui Shan!After 3 solid hours on Campfire Lesson 2,we head down for our dinner.This time,they prepared for us!Lucky,we cook maggie mee cook until sian liao.We ate chicken rice and here's the FUN part!Campfire!After dinner we went to the school carpark and made a campfire right there!Sang songs,cheers,and played many games.It was very fun.The Sir & Maams even made us popcorn to eat!Then came the WORST part of the camp.We were told tt the boys dome had smoke smell.So everyone (all the boys rather) were called down after the campfire,which was around 12am.We were then interrogated by our TOC(Teacher in charge) and all the Sirs & Maams.It was the most tedious punishment throughout this camp.We were told tt SOMEONE used matchsticks and try to burn something in the dome.The TOC was angry because if the smoke detector were to ring,and the fire engine,police,ambulance,principal etc. were to come and see,the TOC would be in hot water and mayb even involving the TOC himself getting sacked.So he was furious wif us and forced us to stand for 40 mins straight!But throughout,the culprit has not been found yet.If I ever know who it was,I will punch his face personally.Make the whole squad suffer juz because you light up one stupid matchstick and fail to admit your mistake.So we all went to bed wif our legs pain like hell(we were told to be in Senang De-ri position throughout) But this time the Sir spoke to me b4 I slept,he said I was the Food IC for tmr -.- No choice but to accept it.However,for today,everyone was all quiet within seconds when they prepared their sleepingbags to sleep.Mayb it was because we were juz scolded by the Sirs tt's why we all very "guai" So all slept at once,and finally,one day wif adequate amount of sleep!Although ppl still snore(a lot!),we still managed to sleep,mayb because we were dog tired from the stupid hike tt made us hurt out feet!
3rd and last day!Woke up at 5am again and as usual did exercise.Ate cup noodles this time for breakfast.Then went for Knots Tying LESSON and later,evacuation.Had lunch (some Malay rice,2 chicken wings & one egg wif some Ikan Bilis ) and was in charge of the food.I was told to clean the place up etc.We made some orange juice in which many ppl,as many as 7,were drinking from MY cup because they did not bring theirs.(I'm NEVER gonna use tt cup EVER again!) We did Area Cleaning in which I was in charge(again) of the logistics & we had a final briefing b4 we bade farewell to each other.Mama came to fetch me so I did'nt have any trouble carry back my HUGE luggage!(Yay!)
So,at the end of the day,I managed to PASS MY OA SLIVER,YAY!All in all,it was a fun but tiring camp la.As you can see,SOOOOO many uncountable LESSONS,if cannot pass tt means got prob liao!If I were to rate it,it would be 7/10.Although it wasn't perfect but I did still enjoy a bit and get to know more ppl better.(So much for being IC for everything -.-)
